European Junior Ryder Cup Captain Stephen Gallacher has unveiled his 12-strong team to take on the United States in Rome from September 26-28, 2023. The six automatic qualifiers comprise three boys - Englishman Kris Kim, Ireland’s Sean Keeling and Germany’s Peer Wernicke - and three girls - Spain’s Rocio Tejedo, Swede Meja Örtengren and Germany’s Helen Briem.

The stroke play qualifying rounds of the European Team Championships were the most recent opportunity for players to score points towards selection for Team Europe. Six junior boys and six junior girls will be chosen for the team that will compete with the USA in Rome from 26 to 28 September ahead of the 2023 Ryder Cup.

A busy three weeks have seen four events completed in which players earned points towards automatic selection for Team Europe. On the boys’ side, the two biggest individual European amateur events of the year were recently contested, The Amateur Championship in England and the European Amateur Championship in Estonia.
